I am proud of my self because for the first time I am sticking to my pre season goal of not shooting a small buck . Almost every night I am seeing small deer such as spikes and four points and I have them in the cross hairs , but I keep waiting . Now as the season gets later I may need to take a small one for the venison but we are not there yet.

Our group has church janitor duties this month. On our way out the door to clean, my sons spotted a spike and a doe in the yard, just waiting for a junior bowhunter to come along. I was already exasperated because everyone was running late. Being the good Mom that I am, I chased the deer away with the car so they didn't have to wonder if they "could've" shot it. Dougie wasn't terribly impressed with my choice, but hey, I had more helpers at the church. Our yard is loaded with apples. It'll be back. :)
